Biography

Leslie “Bastic" Jenkins was born in Belize. From an early age, he showed a passion for music. He became involved with every community activity, namely Festival of Arts showcasing his talent and was given the name “Bastic” after singing the famous song “Mr. Boombastic” from Shaggy. Kicking off his music career, he was invited by the late “Andy Palacio” to sing in a children rights song ”know your rights" for UNICEF. After returning from Chicago, Bastic was introduced to Anthony O’sullivan, a Jamaican who had the same passion and created a small Reggae band called “Kenyatta” which had made a name for itself over the years but the passing away of Anthony made the band split apart. In 2009, Bastic released his first single “God will be there” which took the media houses and radio stations by storm and was number 1 on all media in Belize for months. Gaining the attention and spotlight, Bastic joined a global sing along Beatles song “All we need is love” sponsored by Starbucks, charity to combat HIV in Africa.
