Biography

North Philly born emcee S.D. instantly had a love for Hip Hop when his late cousin Ram Rod introduced him to the likes of Run D.M.C., Boogie Down Productions, Big Daddy Kane and Kool G. Rap in the 80's. The combination of these lyrical greats made him appreciate the Hip Hop Culture and he knew one day he would have some involvement with inspirations of being a hip hop producer. But Steven A. Gibson took another route and found his writing niche in the early 90's being an avid fan of the Underground Hip Hop scene and the gritty style and creativity that the genre brought to the music community. His love for groups like EPMD, Black Moon, and Gang Starr helped create his style and was given the moniker S.D. (short for Scat Dad) by a childhood friend. S.D. left for the military for eight years, and after being honorably discharged, he became a DJ as his love for music never escaped him. Years later, S.D. linked up with the Philly based Underground Heat Cypher and has made several cypher videos on YouTube, which gave him the itch to start making records again and eventually putting out his debut album The Triple M Theory. The Man on Many Missions takes you through a 9-track journey through growth on this project as he speaks on mental health, prosperity and social injustice.
