Noah Franche-Nolan is a Canadian pianist, improviser, composer, and arranger based in New York City. He leads the Noah Franche-Nolan Trio, with Juno-Nominated Jodi Proznick on bass and Nicholas Bracewell on drums. This band is releasing its debut album on the Cellar Live Record Label on Sept 15 2023. This band also forms the rhythm section for Indo Jazz Fusion group Raagaverse, led by Shruti Ramani. In addition to being a performer and bandleader, Franche-Nolan is an active composer, having most recently composed the score to NYC film maker Talha Jalal’s documentary “Rite of Passage” and the music for Vancouver-based playwright Shelby Saitterthwaite’s play Light Rapid Transit. He has also recently released two electro-acoustic records on Infidels label in collaboration with Dutch composer/violist Oene van Geel and Canadian composer/guitarist Dan Pitt, titled “Portraits from the Interior World Vol I and II”. As a whole, Franche-Nolan strives to explore the blending of sincere emotional connection with musical intricacy in his work. Noah is on Faculty at the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra's School of Music in the Jazz Department and the Classical Theory and Composition Department.
