First introduction to hip hop was Common Like Water for Chocolate. Blew me away as a child. Father is a big hip hop head along with house music. So that helped propel my interests in addition. My other interests came from my mother who loved R&B and soul but really loved soft rock or even groups like ABBA. She helped me to become more open to other genres. By the time I got to high school, I spend hours looking for new music and just go down a rabbit hole. I ended up enjoying various genres ranging from prog metal to dream pop to idm. That carried on all the way to today to where nothing has changed. I still feel like a kid that first heard Common's album anytime I hear new music, especially beautiful soul samples. I cater towards the style of 9th wonder, J dilla, Madlib, Khrysis naturally because I grew up loving that sound. 9th wonder was specifically a big part of musical tree. First heard of him back in 05 and he single handedly lead me to so many great artists old and new. Just know, head nodding soul food beats is always here. I'm here for you and here ro please.
