Sweet Gum Tree is Gallic multi-instrumentalist and singer-songwriter Arno Sojo's solo project. Taking his poetic material on a cinematic journey through Europe’s art-rock lineage, he's performed on stage or in the studio with Isobel Campbell, Heather Nova, Earl Harvin (Tindersticks), Marty Willson-Piper (The Church), Ken Stringfellow (R.E.M., Posies) and many more over the past couple of decades. A recent collaboration with Ed Harcourt is giving birth to the follow-up to Silvatica (2021), critically-acclaimed in France and featured in best-selling book "1,000 essential rock albums from 1956 to now". With his smoky, sensual voice and romantic presence, Sweet Gum Tree embodies a distinctive kind of elegance, cultivating his own aesthetic in a beautiful collision of the intimate sphere and the wide open space.
