JHNN is a talented artist and DJ from Calgary, Alberta. They specialize in creating electronic music that blends together various genres. JHNN's music can be described as a fusion of synthwave, synthpop, new wave, deep house, techno, and trance, resulting in a unique and captivating sound. They first started releasing music in 2015 and released their first EP, Afrofuturism, in 2018. As they continued to explore their sound, JHNN began incorporating elements of 80s synthpop and gothic genres such as industrial, EBM, and darkwave. This led to the release of their hugely popular album, StereoTYP, which combined industrial influences with synthpop and trance music from the 90s. StereoTYP was released in 2020, during the height of the pandemic, and received a lot of attention from Twitch streamers who played it on their music channels. Recently, JHNN released a new EP called Eat the Rich in late 2023. This EP was influenced by the sounds of darkwave bands such as Boy Harsher, Kontravoid, Pixel Grip, and Zanias, among others.
