Tim and Filip met in 2003, at a sound check onstage somewhere in the Midwest, where later that night their bands would play together. Tim, enamored with Filip’s “Andrew Reynolds” signature Baker skateboard, said “hey let’s skate after soundcheck” and the rest is history.  The 2 have made music together ever since, focusing all of their together time on Highland Park Sleep Collective.  Ambient is such an amazing genre, as it can only be judged by how unnoticeable it is. Historically labeled as elevator or wallpaper music, the greatest contributors to the field are always adding something inventive and futuristic.  Equal parts experimental and experiential, the sound of HPSC began to gel as Tim and Filip fostered creativity through weekend trips to the mountains and hikes to waterfalls.  Music made from friendship has an extra element and that’s what is going on here.
