Intuitively mastering the very foundation of music production requires some solid building blocks. For New York beatmaker Reckonize Real, this stemmed from making mixtapes with a dual cassette recorder, playing guitar in punk bands, B-boying and DJing. Being able to recognize the intrinsic quality of a rhythm or a beat, gave the producer his name. It wasn't until 2007 that he started making Hip-Hop beats, using a simple computer program and sampling handed down vinyl records. His signature style could be characterized by heavy drums, chopped vinyl samples fused in with live instrumentation. The years following would see Reckonize Real making rounds in the New York beat showcase circuit, making a lasting impression at iStandard and the !llmind hosted party BLAPS. His reputation has extended, particularly focusing on producing full collaboration and concept albums. This includes his 2013 debut “Dopamine”, which featured stand out artists Skyzoo, Reks, Wordsworth, Torae, M-Dot and frequent collaborator Deff Cutz. The two would go on to establish the independent label Real Deff Music Group, which released "Vibes" EP with Moka Only in 2017 and “Carved From Stone” with Guilty Simpson in 2018 through Fat Beats Distribution.
