Okos Viola (Viola Okos) is a Hungarian singer-songwriter and instrumentalist producing her own music. She started her music career in 2012 as a singer in the band Ethnofil, today known as Odd ID. Ethnofil/Odd ID fuses ethno with progressive, electronic and pop elements. All their singles are a result of their creative and collaborative improvisation work. They toured across Europe and released three albums with her between the years 2011-2019. She grew up surrounded by Hungarian folk music within her family but encountered and was inspired by other genres at an early age. Starting with folk music studies as a child and later at a music conservatory, her first instrument was the violin. Over the years, her musical interests expanded across different genres. By the age of 12 she was already holding the guitar. Joining Ethnofil at 15, contemporary music began playing an increasingly significant role in her performances. The past few years, in addition to playing in both folk and contemporary bands, she collaborated with various musical and artistic projects and ventured into solo performances. In recent years, she incorporated the instrument 'koboz' into her music. In 2023-2024, she is set to launch her debut solo album — a Hungarian folk music arrangement material that blends various alternative genres with her own unique musicality. The EP is both recorded and produced by her. Notably, the upcoming material also places a strong emphasis on visual artworks.
