Aids awareness and Mental health awareness are at the forefront of everything ibJB and his team do. It's all in his music and in his everyday life. At the age of 18 his mother Cindy Lynne contracted aids all awhile being pregnant with his younger sister. Joseph was only 6 years old when his mother who was 23 at the time passed away. This event has impacted ibJB’s life to the max, when he was young the loss of his mother and never meeting his father had him growing up troublesome and unruly. He was passed on from his Grandmother and from family member to family member. Fast forward to his adult years the passing and memory of his mother Cindy impacts him in the most positive way you could think of. His music brings aids and mental health that seem to have been swept up under a rug over the years back to reality. ibJB is bringing aids awareness and mental health awareness back into hip hop. His music has a message for every person whether they're suffering the loss of a loved one, struggling with the virus themselves or living along the side of someone who has contracted the virus. His music speaks to the kids being bullied in school who may feel or become suicidal feeling the lack of belonging. His music speaks to the men and women who face mental health problems whether it is short term or long term. ibJB is for the light and the love.
