Lacey Mundaca aka FreshtillDef is a footwork and bass artist hailing from San Antonio, Texas. FreshtilDef’s production style can be described as melodic blends of classic 808-driven footwork and juke, southern hip-hop, dnb, jungle and rave music, rolled into one – An exciting energy that is equally matched in her DJ sets. FreshtillDef started Freshmoon Records with her main collaborator MoonDoctor in 2012, and her breakout debut came in 2013 as a featured artist (and member of Teklife) on DJ Rashad’s “I Don’t Give A F*ck” EP on Kode9’s iconic label Hyperdub. Since that time, FreshtillDef has produced with footwork, juke and other dance artists across various genres, released her first solo EP on Freshmoon in 2015 (Delerium) and has done remixes for Russian artist Pixelord (Twisted Zone, Heka Trax) and Mel G (The Light, Black Marble Collective). FreshtillDef’s latest, the “Vocalize” EP (2019) is her second solo release on Freshmoon Records, and showcases her signature sound at its most versatile. Paired with a steadily growing DJ schedule across North America, FreshtillDef is truly becoming quite a memorable name in the global bass scene.
