Starting in the early ‘90s, Double P (originally Psychic Phenomena) was formed when Dom G and Drew Horley met in college and started collaborating in Drew’s bedroom in South London. Using tape decks, breakbeats, samples, two Technics 1200s, a DJ mixer, and a mic, they created demos. They quickly gained recognition in the UK Hip Hop scene, appearing on DJ 279 & Teddy Ted’s show on Choice FM “Friday Night Flavas” and performing regularly at “Flava of The Month” at Boarderline in Central London. They released their first EP, “The Whole Circumference,” in 1997 on Low Life Records, followed by several singles until 2003. Dom G continued recording solo material, while Drew produced for artists such as Ty (Mercury-nominated), Estelle, Jay Sean, Natalie Williams and many more. Double P return with their first single in 21 years A-YO. The song showcases their signature style, blending Drew’s soulful melodies and synth-laced beats with Dom G’s sharp, witty lyricism. A-YO is already creating buzz among UK Hip Hop fans and local radio stations, captivating listeners with its fresh yet familiar sound.
