Biography

Brooklyn native XP (turned sideways on all media), born Aaron Webb on November 10th, 1997 doesn't parallel most rappers story. While most of his generation was influenced by Jeezy and Gucci Mane, having grown up listening to bands like Panic! At The Disco, and Fall Out Boy, XP found himself more at home listening to artists like Childish Gambino and Vic Mensa. In 2014 he dropped his first tracks in his "Fuck Yo Couch" EP to a small reception, then again in 2016 gaining larger success with his "Shorts In the Wintertime" EP. His style is deeply rooted in autotuned vocals blending the fun, melodic, erraticness of the current new wave of rappers with traces of the essence of original east coast hip-hop. Using instrumentals ranging from minimalistic trap to velvety synth pop and occasionally deep soulful samples, he brings each one to life with his brash lyricism and alt-rock inspired melodies, reminiscent of Lil Yachty and Lil Uzi Vert. XP seeks to create what he calls Lazy Pop, which he described as "catchy music, but like natural. For the everyman. Like Pop but .....not exactly". Equipped with melodic production (ala Travis Scott, Kodak Black etc.) and his Lazy Pop content company, he will surely find success in the coming years.
