Meet kei, a fiery recording artist taking the New England hip-hop scene by storm. Growing up in the Dorchester neighborhood of Boston, MA, kei recalls always being surrounded by creative energy. Whether exploring activities like dancing and painting, or experimenting with her friends making music, creative pursuits have always been an integral part of kei’s life. After releasing her debut EP,  'baby steps' in 2021, kei was quickly embraced by the New England music scene where she thrived. Her second EP ‘terrible twos’ soon followed where she paid homage to influences like Rico Nasty in May 2022, cementing kei’s status as one of Boston’s most promising emerging artists. Following her ‘terrible tour’ leg spanning Boston-New York-Los Angeles, and the success of her award-winning single berserk, kei was not only crowned Jack Daniel’s Best New Artist of the Year at the 2022 Boston Music Awards, but also delivered her deranged ‘CHILD’S PLAY’ EP. kei’s consistency would lead to her being admitted to the 2023 cohort of Harvard University’s No Label Academy where she garnered co-signs from the likes of BIA and IDK. In addition to editorial love from NPR, Nyla Symone of Power 105.1, Raedio, Daily Chiefers, CABBAGES Hip-Hop, and more, she has also garnered a reputation for energetic live shows; from rocking stages at colleges across the country to opening for EARTHGANG, Lola Brooke, BKTHERULA, IDK, Grandmaster Flash, and Blvck Svm, kei is quickly becoming a force to be reckoned with.
