Biography

Biog
Beki is a creative polymath   She is a conceptualist and creative director by day, pushing boundaries for artists and for how an audience may consume that work. She is an ideas factory – absorbing art, image, music, fashion and dance and evolving this into future creativity. A singer, a performer, a director, a poet, a filmmaker – Beki is trusted by artists to bring vision to their art, to take it and push it forward. Understanding that ideas have to be communicated and welcomed into the audience’s world.   Recent projects have included creating and directing music performance films for global superstars such as Rita Ora, Joy Crookes, Glass Animals, Sigrid, James Bay, Melody Gardot, Sting, Paloma Faith, Shawn Mendes, Popsmoke, Conan Gray & Paris Jackson,   Short films for Damelfrau x Katya Meyer x Radical Beauty, Manysheva and Lost Colours.   On the other side of the camera, writing and performing with artists as diverse as seminal punk band Crass to Tessa Pollit (The Slits) to the French collective Nouvelle Vague, Beki was asked to sing with Royksopp– something she was thrilled to do, citing them as a huge musical influence and cultural shifters themselves.
Beki created a band - The Living Gods Of Haïti- in which she composed with Marc Collin (Nouvelle Vague) and was the vocalist. It was after hearing one of these songs that prompted Royksopp to connect with Beki - the result of which is « This Time, This Place ».
