Biography

Garth Bennett AKA 'Jermainesoul', is a Leeds-born, Birmingham based electronic producer. His style is a combination of lush melodies, rich orchestration, driving basses and complex rhythms. Since the age of 4, he has always been involved in music in some way; from playing the violin and flute for orchestras to getting excited by putting on his uncles Marvin Gaye records. By the age of 19, he knew that creating music was the only thing he really wanted to do in life, and made it his lifes' purpose to master his craft and gain as much knowledge about music as his brain could handle, then squeeze in more. His first release on BLBX Records, Yogyakarta, received great reviews and praise from respected radio DJ's like Mary Ann Hobbs, receiving "Track of the day" on XLR8R magazine. The following year, his first EP 'Observatory' also received some great praise and reviews from magazines such as XLR8R, The 405 and Line of Best Fit. A few years later, he formed the future soul group 'Kinatural' with singer/songwriter Allysa Rochelle and drummer Cedric Monzali. They went on to perform regularly around London and Birmingham and received great praise for their introductory EP 'Reflections', which was premiered by Afropunk. Since then, he has worked and performed with many artists such as Daedelus, Bocca Grande, Catherine Ann Davies and Max Cooper; recently collaborating with singer/songwriter Utelka Johnson, producing her 'Asphixiology' EP via BLBX Records.
