Cellist Iván Nogueira was born in Vigo (1990, Galicia - Spain). In 2013 he moved to Rotterdam (The Netherlands) to pursue his master's degree in music. The international and fascinating cultural atmosphere of Rotterdam inspired Iván to continue to develop himself with all kinds of music projects. Iván likes to merge his classical music background with his passion for folk a popular music styles. The influence of a broad spectrum of genres has led him to approach music and the cello in its broadest and most comprehensive sense. In 2021 he produced his first solo album, "ON.CELLO - tones&tunes", comprised of his own compositions and arrangements for cello solo. This was a result of the research of the possibilities of his instrument within the folk music of the Spanish region where he comes from (Galicia), whose popular music belongs to the Celtic tradition.
