Miquo- an artist so organic, no stage name is required. This Houston born, Baytown bred lyricist first appeared on the Houston hip-hop scene in 2017 with his debut mixtape on SoundCloud , “Message In A Bottle”. Growing up, his first real connection to music was ridin slab in his uncles’ 85 Fleetwood bangin “Screw Tapes” and “Zapp & Roger”. Unbeknownst to most, his mother was a poet and a songwriter herself. After a stint playing college football, the universe decided it was time for Miquo to embark on new endeavors. By 2014 he had dropped out of college. But, it wasn’t until 2016 that he would find himself in a studio learning to practically record all by himself. While striving to distance himself from the ‘Screwed up’ sound that had dominated the Houston scene, Miquo wanted to deliver something that was more alternative with hopes of revitalizing space city’s sound as a whole. Before the passing of his late baby brother in 2018, Miquo released his first EP THE REAL (EP) honing his unique delivery and inspired lyrics. In 2019, he introduced us to HOODIE BRASKO VOL 1. (ROUGH DIAMONDS) EP then followed up with GREENBACKS EP. With his upcoming debut album “everybody HURT.” set to drop sometime in 2023, Miquo is poised to make his mark on the music industry. Working with songwriter Derrick Milano and dedicating his time to elevating his sound, Miquo is focused on breaking through yet another ceiling and delivering his unique brand of storytelling to a broader audience.
