Texas-born Atlanta creative IDon’tKnowMarcus, combines witty underground-like lyricism with modern hip-hop melodies to create a sound that fuses well in both worlds. At the age of eight, living with only his mother and two older sisters, IDKM started writing journal entries every day so he could get the things off his chest that he thought others wouldn’t understand. A few years later when he met his aunts boyfriend he was introduced to the likes of Tupac and Biggie. That’s when he knew the world of hip hop music is where he wanted to live. he replaced his daily journal entries with pages of rap lyrics and poetry as a hobby until Ninth Grade when he met his second mother, a literature teacher, who empowered him to write more. In exchange for his attention during class, she agreed to allow him the last 10 minutes to just write and perform in front of his classmates. She encouraged him by reassuring him that he was a far better writer and lyricist than he thought he was. Without any knowledge of the industry, IDon’tKnowMarcus set out to be one of the best MCs in the game. Years later In 2017, after almost giving up on his dream multiple times, he decided to give music everything he had. He dropped out of college and started to devote every moment not spent supporting his family on being the best artist. With no major accolades or awards for his work to date.
