Biography

Craig Walker, front-man with Power of Dreams, Mineral, and Archive has collaborated on a new project with Canadian producer/songwriter Erik Alcock. Craig Walker & The Cold was born out of mutual respect for each other’s work. With Craig fronting the aforementioned acts and having a colorful string of collaborations (Bookashade, Phoebe Killdeer, The Avener – Fade Out Lines) under his belt he enlisted multi-instrumentalist Erik. A musician in his own right, he might be best known for his songwriting collaborations with a diverse collection of artists ranging from Eminem to Celine Dion to Pink Electric Shoes, their debut album offering is a very personal record. Taking the listener on a journey from the flats of 1980’s Dublin to the brutalist sunrise of a post-club morning in Berlin. This style of writing weaves its way throughout the album. Most evident on Junkie Sunset. A look at the rise of heroin in Dublin city in the 80s and the devastation it brought upon inner-city communities. Akin to The Kinks/Small Faces with a modern sheen. Collaborations on the album come from British/Berlin-based prog-rock enthusiast Mark Reeder (B-Movie, MFS Records) on Electric Shoes and experimental-pop hybrid and A/V artist Portrait XO, on Circuit Rider. The whole album has a certain spirituality to it evoking the feeling that while it’s good to reflect on the past it’s important to not let it destroy you. Classic Folk and prog/psych-rock stylings, brimming with contemporary production.
