Based out of Tampa, FL, an amalgamation of genres and sounds, CRV5H (Crush) aims to bring his own eccentric variety of 80’s electro-funk to the spotlight of the modern music scene. With songwriting roots in reggae and heavy metal, and refusing to be contained to one sound, CRV5H is constantly on a mission to widen his sonic landscape and entice the listener to mash the “repeat” button on any given track. Combining old school synths and vintage drum machines with new school production, his hypnotically funky bass lines will undoubtedly get the listener off their chair and shaking their cheeks. No matter the genre of any particular track, there are always two common ingredients; funk and humor. With songs like “Looking 4 Love” touching on modern day topics like Tinder and online dating and tracks like “Party All Night” telling the story of getting a girl home only to find out she has a boyfriend, an often half naked CRV5H is always down for a good time. Starting the project in 2019, CRV5H aims to own his means of production and handles all aspects of the music, from production and writing to album art and visuals. The “Cooking w/CRV5H” YouTube series takes you inside the kitchen (his home bedroom studio), and shows you how he cooks up his tracks. Utilizing live looping, the one man band aims to take his show on the road late 2020, and is determined to “Make America Groove Again” by any means necessary.
