Biography

Italian bassist and doublebass player, Giuseppe Venezia, started his artistic career in the early years of 2000. He has been involved in many bands and has participated in several recording, supporting musicians from all over the world both in studio and live. He is also the artistic director of the Rosetta Jazz Club and the Basilijazz - Basilicata Jazz Festival, today considered a "first call" by many American musicians who perform in Europe. Venezia has shared stages and recording studios, both in Italy and abroad, with prestigious names of the world jazz scene, such as Enrico Rava, Stochelo Rosenberg, Peter Bernstein, Greg Hutchinson, Scott Hamilton, Jonathan Blake, Dado Moroni, Philip Harper, Jerry Bergonzi, Jason Lindner, Johnny O'Neal, Flavio Boltro, Jesse Davis, Roberto Gatto. Since 2012, the concert agenda of Venezia has included a fixed appointment in the US, where in recent years he has performed in prestigious venues - Guggenheim New York City, Yale College and the Dante Alighieri Society of Massachusetts in Cambridge - and at the best jazz clubs with stars and stripes - Birdland, Dizzy’s Club Coca Cola, Fat Cat, Maureen’s Jazz Cellar, Small’s Jazz Club, The Django, Mezzrow Jazz Club, Deer Head Inn, The Side Door Jazz Club, Hard Rock Cafè Atlantic City - with major American musicians such as: Emmet Cohen, Joe Farnsworth, Jerry Weldon, Benny Benack III, Craig Hartley, Jeb Patton, David Hazeltine, John Di Martino, Mike LeDonne, Bruce Harris, among others.
