Biography

After picking up the guitar at the age of fourteen, Johannesburg born and Nashville based singed-songwriter Laura Reed has gone on to do it all in the music industry and have a career that any artist would dream of. From her career origins as a street performer to working alongside esteemed producers such as Paul Worley (Lady A, The Chicks) and Shannon Sanders (John Legend, Pink) to performing hundreds of shows a year with her bands Laura Reed and Deep Pocket and LORE and sharing stages with George Clinton, Indie Arie, Miguel and Valerie June to having her music featured in films and TV shows starring Hollywood royalty such as Jennifer Hudson and Susan Sarandon all whilst gaining celebrity fans that include the late Whitney Houston and Sheryl Crow. With a unique sound that is equal parts rock, soul and blues that showcases her powerful and gutsy vocals with lyrical themes that attest to the power of human strength when faced with extreme adversity, there is truly nothing that could possibly hold back the mammoth talent that Laura has at her disposal. On her new single REMEDY Reed has formed a song that sits comfortably within the blues idiom simultaneously resembling artists from the present day as it does American roots singers of the 1920s and 1930s with her signature harmonica playing and energy.
