Ever since he was only six years old, Rico Dean has been fascinated by the way storytelling functions as a way to explain the complexity of life. In his career as a songwriter and producer, amplifying the stories of artists has always been his main focus and several of those artists have seen rise in The Netherlands. But the 26-years old songwriter and record producer found that his creativity in telling stories goes beyond working with artists so he decided to become one himself. Within his own artist project, the multi-instrumentalist focuses on creating authentic records rather than achieving a cohesive sound, which closely resonates with the way producers like Mark Ronson, Brian Eno and Rick Rubin approach their projects. Everything he will release in the future will be about one thing: records that serve the story. “Being truthful in everything we create is the only way to express and convey how complex we are as humans. And if we do that right is has the chance to become something powerful.”
