Dinaye is a Norwegian-Ethiopian singer, songwriter and dancer currently based in London. The artist proved her talent through various Norwegian TV shows such as the Idols 2020 where she finished 6th place, and Melodi Grand Prix in 2021 with her song “Own Yourself”. From an early age, Dinaye has had a passion for music. She first started out as a dancer, and was heavily inspired by Michael Jackson, and traditional Ethiopian dancing that came from her mother’s side. She competed in Norway's Got Talent as a MJ dancer at the age of 10, making it to the semifinals. That is when she realized being on stage was her ‘home’, where she belonged. Later, she started taking singing more seriously. As Dinaye developed in her vocals, she competed in the Junior version of Melodi Grand Prix, known as MGP Jr in 2016. “Sterk og Rå” reached the superfinals. A year after the competition, the artist was selected by the Norwegian TV program NRK Super to be the lead singer of the song “Jeg bestemmer selv”, produced by Norwegian Grammys winner, Filip Kollsete. The 20-year-old is continuing to pursue her music career and write more songs. Lately, the artist has released soul songs of an extremely high quality, and with the mix of soul and the inspiration from her Ethiopian roots, creates a unique sound you won't want to miss.
