Known for her warm, buttery vocals and fingerpicking on a nylon string guitar, Taylor Taylor’s music is sure to pull on the heartstrings. Her pop/soul style is only enhanced by her confessional story-telling and genuine optimism which can be felt through the speakers and experienced most potently through live performance. Taylor Taylor (that’s her real name) began playing guitar at the age of eight and by thirteen was performing at various venues in her hometown of Lansing, Michigan. She has opened for acts such as Trombone Shorty, American Idol’s Kris Allen and Pia Toscano. In 2014, Taylor was named Indi.com’s Songwriter of the Year by Grammy award winning producer John Shanks. Taylor has performed over 700+ live shows in Michigan, New York, Nashville and Los Angeles. Since her move to LA, Taylor has received recognition from artists such as Lianne La Havas and India Arie when invited to join her in song onstage. Taylor was also coined the “female John Mayer” by Grammy nominated recording artist Mickey Guyton while on the Today show. Featured on a wide range of genres such as hip-hop, house and world music, one of Taylor’s most popular collaborations, “Love Goals” with rapper Call Me Ace has garnished over 250,000+ plays on Spotify and over 100,000+ views on Youtube. While her most recent collaboration with music collective Sol Set landed her on Tyler the Creator’s list of favorite songs of 2022.
