Biography

A US Virgin Islands born hip-hop artist, producer and all around creative, Prya has been pioneering Caribbean urban music long before his first official solo release “Back Home in a Dream” in 2015. Originally part of St. Croix rap group “Deh Fam”, Prya set off to blaze his own path after moving to Atlanta, GA in 2014.
Along the way he has become closely affiliated with top-tier international acts R. City, Pressure, Verse Simmonds, Kardinal Offishall, Bunji Garlin and more as part of the IBC (Island Boy Cartel) Collective. After the release of his first single, which also has a remix (Back Home in a Dream Rmx) featuring members of IBC, Prya hasn’t shown any signs of letting up. Continuing the momentum he released his “Baggage Claim” EP in December 2015. January 2016 saw the release of “No L's (Bonus Track)” a viral diss track that became a cult classic. He then followed up with “From Lang", a clever play on words and dialect, that easiest translates to ‘from the jump’. Both became part of his “Keep Left” EP released the same year. The Dan (island slang for Don) then released his biggest single to date, “Yessah”, which he co-produced alongside Turf Life Music in 2017. The single and video quickly became a summer anthem and currently boasts over 300,000 combined views and streams. Kicking things off with “Lawd Ah Mercy” featuring Timo of R. City as the first single of the year, 2019 is shaping up to be the biggest of Prya’s career. Stay tuned for more updates and releases!
