Mildreda's music is complex and multi-dimensional, exuding a deep and multifaceted darkness. Jan Dewulf embarked on his journey with Mildreda during his teenage years back in the 90s, driven by an unstoppable urge for crafting dark electro music. He started by assembling demo tapes, the initial attempts being a bit unpolished. However, ‘De Laffe Denker’ would later attain cult status. As the turn of the century approached, Jan temporarily set Mildreda aside to explore other musical challenges. During this hiatus, he honed his skills as both a producer and songwriter. Almost a decade later, his rekindled interest in dark electro led to a Mildreda comeback. ‘Coward Philosophy’, released only digitally, was critically acclaimed and warmly welcomed by the fans. Several more years passed before Jan would fully commit himself once more to Mildreda. The year 2020 marked a significant turning point. Armed with maturity as a seasoned producer and a wealth of inspiration, he worked on what would become ‘I was never really there’ (2021) and inked a deal with Dependent. ‘Liaisons Dangereuses’ and ‘Inner Judgement’ quickly became essential dark electro successes, solidifying Mildreda's position in the dark electro scene. With the concept album ‘Blue-Devilled’ (2023), Mildreda continues to ascend, delivering a more intricate sound filled with increased melodies and a wider range of nuances. This expanded and more open sound reveals Mildreda's true colours to shine through.
