Biography

Italian producers, remixers and writers, the Rapino Brothers are Marco Sabiu and Charlie Mallozzi. Sabiu is a keyboard player and programmer, who admits to being classically trained (‘though trying to forget it’). Former drummer Mallozzi, meanwhile, provides the musical knowledge behind the group, and most of its strategy. After working initially in their native Bologna, Italy, the duo moved to London in May 1992. Their career since then has boomed, and they have become fixtures on the club remix circuit via work with Vegas (‘She’), Freaky Realistic (‘Something New’), Heaven 17 ‘(We Don’t Need This) Fascist Groove Thang’, Candyland (‘Rainbow’), Dayeene (‘Around The World’), London Boys (‘Baby Come Back’) and Milan (‘Affectionately Mine’), among others. As artists they also employ their own act, Rapination, which features assorted vocalists, and they quickly scored a UK Top 40 success in January 1993 with the aid of Kym Mazelle’s vocals on ‘Love Me The Right Way’.
