Biography

Greater Boston-Based Singer/Songwriter - New England-Core; Indie-Folk. I make music to cultivate my joy! I feel blessed to live in a day and age in which I can mess around and do collaborations and record things in my basement and then share them with the whole world. If you’re here, I hope you stick around. I’m just tryna put stuff out and see where it lands. - IZJ Isaiah Z Johnson is an experienced multi-instrumentalist, singer, and songwriter. He has recorded and performed live with various artists and ensembles in - most notably as a member of Edward Glen and as the lead singer of The Third Wing. Equinox at Heron Lake is Isaiah's first full-length professional solo album. It's a nostalgic ode to New England and the landscapes that raised him and to watching the seasons pass. Before Equinox at Heron Lake, Isaiah released three other projects. The first, 2018's Redeye Flight (Demos), was a self-produced collaboration with Edward Glen under the name Downy Woodpecker, which was professionally produced and re-released in 2021 as Redeye Flight. Isaiah also self-produced his first set of solo demos, Songs of Summer, in 2019. Stylistically, Isaiah's music has fluctuated but has distilled down over time to an indie folk sound with influence from blues, rock & roll, country, pop punk, reggae, and gospel.
