'Lunicium' is the pseudonym for the personal music project of multi-genre composer, sound designer and sonic artist, Stephen Pryke. It is an experimental outlet through which he combines his composition and sound design skills to create immersive, atmospheric, and cinematic music in a variety of genres, ranging from Progressive Metal and Jazz to Electronic and Neo-Classical. Based in Letchworth Garden City, Hertfordshire, UK, the project began in 2017 when Stephen started to develop his GCSE and A-Level Music compositions into demos. Eventually, he started writing music specifically for the project and became more artistic and experimental in his approach to making music, exploring different genres, and experimenting with rhythm, harmony, and instrumentation. Influenced by his BSc (Hons) and MSc courses at the University of Hertfordshire, he would begin experimenting with combining music and sound design to create atmospheric sonic experiences. A DIY project, he writes, records, produces, programs, mixes, masters, designs, and promotes everything himself. The project's third single 'Undulate' was released in February of 2022, and the Lunicium debut EP and album are currently in progress. Stephen also releases professional and miscellaneous compositional works under his own name, 'Stephen Pryke';. In 2020, he released an album of improvised piano pieces entitled 'Epiphanies, Pts. 1-6'.
