Biography

Taz Bailey, born September 29, 1993, is a Detroit rap artist known for his authentic storytelling and undeniable talent. With over a decade in the industry, Taz's journey showcases perseverance, growth, and unwavering dedication to his craft. Starting at age 9, Taz discovered his passion for rap, adopting the moniker "Young Jay Reall," a nod to his given name, Jairell. His commitment was evident as he recorded his first song at 13, setting the stage for a promising future. Former Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick introduced Taz to the city, propelling him into the spotlight. He tirelessly toured local high schools, performing at parties, and passionately promoting his music to connect with listeners on a personal level. Seeking to refine his skills, Taz pursued higher education at Full Sail University, mastering studio engineering and videography. This knowledge enriched his creative process. A turning point came with the passing of Taz's father, Eddie Bailey, on November 9, 2015. In honor of his father's memory, Taz changed his stage name to "Taz Bailey," inspired by his father's love for the Tazmanian Devil character. This transformation symbolized personal growth, fueling his music with depth and introspection. Taz's commitment to authenticity and resilience shines through his verses. With powerful lyricism, storytelling, and infectious energy, he leaves an indelible mark on the rap scene.
