We Make It Look

Biography

Saint Cassius is investing in Harlem, a place that both sides of his family have roots and heritage. In the centennial year of the Harlem Renaissance, he too, aims to migrate Black Excellence in the tradition of his ancestors. Uptown contributors, such as Jadakiss on the Toomp-produced “We Make It Look,” are by design. Recently acquiring real estate in the fast-gentrifying section of Manhattan, Saint Cassius is bucking the trends. The newlywed hopes to raise his family in the classic section. “Good Leaders” and “Harlem Hops” merge history with the present, all through an artistic lens. “This is where we belong—where I belong.” Having created Black-owned companies in the arts for years, Saint Cassius is big on ownership and circulating the dollar and the opportunity to those with respect for the culture. “Robert Horry Freestyle” will begin the Balloons Don’t Sink roll out with another grand metaphor. “The casual NBA fan has heard Robert Horry’s name before. But people don’t recognize that he won more championships in his career than Michael Jordan.” A video corresponds with the single where the Cassius (who is an avid sports fan) uses a drum machine, manipulating and layering his own vocals into a sample, accenting the mix. He then takes the beat, and adds his dazzling lyricism. This unorthodox collection of talents makes him a different kind of multi-threat.
