Biography

I'm a Buffalo-based alt electronic soul singer/songwriter/producer trying to make music that won't bore me in 5 years. I love synths, fake jazz chords, and singing higher than my vocal chords want me to. I've recently been told that my music is too pop to be indie and too indie to be pop, but I'm not gonna let genre get me down! I draw inspiration from soul artists, masters of harmony, gospel icons, people who just make you feel some kind of way, and lyricists who just tell you the truth. My Christmas song Focus on the Love (It's Christmas) came out in December 2018 and reminds us that there's more to the holiday season than American capitalist society would have you believe. My first EP, Songs About Pickles, came out in September 2019 and explores navigating a relationship that you can't have. Black Lives and Breakdown, the first two singles from my album, came out in June 2020 and scream that Black lives matter and Black lives are beautiful and whisper that it's okay to have yourself a breakdown. The third single, Why Do We Suck? (feat. Sofía Campoamor), came out in February 2021 to encourage us to give ourselves a break from listening to the voices that make us ask why do we suck? My album, Songs About Isolation, came out in May 2021, 14 months to the day the idea was birthed in the back of an Uber at pandemic's beginning. Though initially an effort to make an album about anything but love, the album became a multi-angle exploration of love in the midst of quarantine.
