Paula is a vibrant and talented violinist with a unique sound. Classical training, along with a love for contemporary music, has allowed her to develop into a versatile and adaptable player. Paula cites Vanessa Mae as her main inspiration whose compositions she loved to play along to as a child. Also an accomplished vocalist, Paula started singing at the age of six and has trained extensively in vocal performance. Her first and main inspiration and stage partner has been her dad, Normunds Kietis, who is a known singer songwriter in Latvia. Paula is known in Latvia as a member of a 6 piece vocal band ‘Putnu balle’ as well as a solo artist performing beautiful compositions by Imants Kalnins. Paula performs in the UK, Italy and Spain as part of Folk Junkies, an energetic and much in demand folk-inflected violin driven band. Paula’s violin arrangements have a growing following on Spotify and her violin arrangement of “Gravity” was recently added to Spotify’s Calming Instrumental Covers Playlist.
