Pretty Blanco, also known by his birth name Tyler Krute, embodies the red-headed stepchild complex that has followed him every step of his life, for better or worse. Never having fit in anywhere he goes, Tyler is the spawn of multiple generations of music, from the rapid-fire lyricism of the 90’s, to the harmony-driven patterns of the 2010’s. Melodic, off-color, and perhaps destructively self-aware, Blanco’s music is also based a lot around his own personal ethos, which began from the tumult of his hometown Staten Island, New York City’s only “forgotten borough”. Having a musical background in dance and drums, while being inspired by the likes of Ludacris, Speaker Knockerz, and Queen, Pretty Blanco is an alternative hip-hop artist operating in a wide-open creative space. In 2016, he released his debut EP Victory Blvd, generating local buzz and garnering the attention of artists like Chris Brown, Travis Barker, and Method Man. Shortly thereafter, Tyler shopped his demo around the industry, but instead found doors shut in his face and more forks paved in his already pothole-filled road. 3 years and some existential crises later, Tyler returns with a new-found aggression, purpose, and sense of resolve through calamity. Maturing as a songwriter while still preserving a glossy yet coarse style, Tyler is pedaling along on his own avenue, filled with monsters, demons and angels.
