David began singing at an early age with every Jewish holiday family gathering. This love of coming together to sing brought lots of joy to the little boy inside and set him on a path. His childhood was deeeeeply influenced by his father's non-stop playing of Folk and Rock from the mid-70's through the 80's. In high school, David joined a Grateful Dead cover band playing congas and backup vocals. While at the University of Denver, David learned how to play guitar and continued playing Congas and singing with an acoustic duo. Arriving in San Francisco in 1995, David found a trio of great musicians and together they created The Calico Band. The three other members had wonderful musical talent that allowed David's mediocre musical skill to sit back while his love of being on stage, singing and being a showman could take center stage. They performed monthly at The Right Spot in the Mission District and also were invited at many events like weddings, parties and bluegrass programs. In 1999, David went to his first Kirtan with Jai Uttal and that redirected his life forever. Now, a love of devotional music and performing it takes first place in his life and he is grateful for all of YOU who listen. Thank you 🙏🏼
