Biography

Dynamic New York jazz vocalist Kelsey Jillette sings lyrical, soulful takes on favorite early R&B, American Songbook, North and South American folk music, and vintage pop. Jillette delivers tasteful, distinctive and earthy vocals in English, Spanish, and Portuguese, appealing to a diverse audience. A regular performer at the famed 55 Bar in NYC's Greenwich Village for over a decade, she has been featured twice on the national Joey Reynolds Show as well as on Radam Schwartz's album "Songs for the Soul" on Arabesque Records. Her 2010 album, The Water is Wide (Consolidated Artists Productions) and 2018 Americas Project debut album are available on all the major streaming services. The Americas Project is based around cajon, assorted percussion, upright bass, nylon-string guitar and vocals, and features music from both continents in Spanish, Portuguese and English. The Lovesome, a classy 1950's-based straight-ahead combo, plays standards as well as early R&B. Jillette also performs regularly with guitarist Peter Einhorn in various combos. Born in Washington, D.C., Kelsey Jillette holds degrees in Theater Arts (Brown University) and Jazz Performance (New School University). She currently resides in Kingston, NY.
