Biography

B R I X (aka Sophie Dupin) is a NYC based singer/songwriter. In 2018, Brix released her debut EP Broken Vessel, which came to life after the loss of her father to cancer. Produced by Jay Levine & Tim Shrider, the EP features Brix’s acclaimed cover of No Doubt’s “Just A Girl”, which was placed in the official trailer for Disney’s The Nutcracker & The Four Realms. Brix vocals & songwriting are featured on Hollywood Records’ artist Cole Plante’s song “Before I’m Yours” which topped the Billboard Dance Charts. She also sang with the band Passion Pit on Saturday Night Live. Her songwriting can be heard in the WB's Charmed, Manhattan Nocturne starring Adrian Brody as well as tv commercials for brands like Shoedazzle, Crayola & Febreze. Brix wrote “Call me naive, but I guess I thought if the world was ending, you would call” in the beginning of the global pandemic. Shortly after, she got Covid-19 but not before sending the song off to producer Dan Krysa who worked on it remotely. Alone in her Brooklyn apartment, she began to document & film herself each day from the same spot on her balcony, telling the story of what a broken heart in quarantine looks like. Her latest single, “Permission to Celebrate” is a fun, holiday bop that acknowledges the challenging year we’ve all had and how the holidays will look a lot different than they have in the past—but also reminds us how important it is to celebrate something, however big or small that may be.
