Kaushiki began her training under her mother Smt. Chandana Chakraborty. Subsequently, she had the privilege of becoming the “Ganda Bandh” disciple of legendary Guru Pandit Jnan Prakash Ghosh, before becoming a disciple of her father, vocal maestro Pandit Ajoy Chakraborty, under whom she continues to learn. Later, she was also fortunate to get Taalim in Carnatic Classical Music from Padma Vibhushan Pandit M. Balamurali Krishna. Kaushiki has formed an All Women Band named “Sakhi “in 2015 which includes Indian vocal, instrumental, percussion and Kathak dance and brings all these forms together to celebrate the spirit of Womanhood and to pay homage to the famous mythological and historical women of India. She has been recipient of many national and international awards such as the 2005 BBC Radio 3 Awards for World Music in Asia/Pacific category. She has also received Sangeet Natak Academy's Ustad Bismillah Khan Puraskar 2010 for Hindustani Vocal Music, the 2012 GIMA award for her album “Yatra 2” , 2013 Mirchi Music Award for the album “Yatra 2”, 2015 Bobby Sethi Music Award, and the 2013 Aditya Birla Kalakiran Puraskar. She has also received "Shera Bangali Samman 2017" by ABP ANANDA. Recently, she has received "West Bengal Government Sangeet Maha Samman Award 2019" , and Nari Shakti Puraskar 2019 by Ministry of Women & Child Development, Govt. of India. Kaushiki has performed Paris, Germany, Hawaii, Budapest, Scotland, Kenya, Japan, Dubai, Muscat, USA and many more.
