Sin Yamoto (Maikel Warmerdam) is a producer based in The Netherlands who is releasing his latest EP “I AM” at the end of September. His first single "Falling Into Place" sets the tone for the upcoming EP; this project is a deepdive into the unknown. In February 2023 he has released his debut album Jamoto. The concept of Jamoto is simple: what would an album about a biking trip through Vietnam sound like if it was based on actual sound recordings that were made along the way? It’s exactly what Sin Yamoto has done when he and two friends travelled through Vietnam on a cheap motorbike in 2017. Instead of taking pictures of beautiful scenery and selfies with people they’ve met, Maikel recorded the soundtrack of their journey; a busy street in Ho Chi Minh City, the sound of his bike breaking down, pouring rain on Christmas eve or a visit at the claustrophobic Cu Chi tunnels. The album “Jamoto” tells the story of their adventures by taking it’s listeners along it’s sonic journal.
