K-Rock Tha Fantom has been a fixture of the San Diego hip hop scene since the 90's as part of local rap crew MastaMyndz. Always an eclectic artist with a healthy love for music of all genres, he re-emerged in the late 2000's as MC and producer for hip hop supergroup, Far From Ya Average (FFYA), a collective that truly lives up to it's name. FFYA became known as one of the most unique and memorable hip hop acts in america's finest city among their hometown peers. They hit a career high with the release of their third full length album "The Basement LP", a concept album of sorts and tribute to the classics of the golden era, culminating in the first of multiple nominations at the San Diego Music Awards. In 2018, K-Rock Tha Fantom released his first solo album, "Nearly God/Almost Human", a darker and more introspective record featuring 30 minutes of classic hip hop bars tackling issues of the day and digging deep into his own soul exposing his personal trials and tribulations. A duet with Amanda Jane called "Love/Hate" featuring K-Rock Tha Fantom's production was also released the same year taking him into the R&B genre. In 2020, a surprise EP called "Trilogy" was dropped as a special tribute to his wife followed by a single "Letter To My Son" in 2021. K-Rock Tha Fantom continues to be as eclectic as ever, through his solo work, as part of FFYA, and currently as one half of metal band Dismembered Constellations and one half of Alternative trip hop outfit FantomOpra.
