Zay Tatum, born Xavier Ross, is a musical recording artist and a Pennsylvania native from Sharon. He came to the world April 5, 1994 to April Johnson and Dale Ross. Raised by his mother and grandmother Tatum was exposed to music before his time such as Cameo, 2Pac, Scarface, Patti LaBelle, Ms. Lauryn Hill, Erykah Badu, Mary J. Blige, Luther Vandross, Kem, Michael Jackson etc. He credits his rap style to his major influences Eminem, Lil Wayne, Drake, Wale, Kendrick Lamar, Wiz Khalifa, and J. Cole. Tatum has a very appealing mellow sound incorporating melodic undertones with hardcore lyrical substance. Zay hopes to continue to release real music with a new sound combining R&B, HipHop, Jazz, and Soul. He has recently garnered attention from his newest release College Chronicles, Vol. 1 which describes moments from his experiences attending and graduating from school. Tatum is also a member and co-founder of TopNoch Everything Entertainment a three man group/label established in 2019 including members Chase Green, Tre Baby.
