Eliko Bass is a world music artiste that takes the bass guitar right to the center and accompanied by a combination of traditional and western instruments. It is music that goes back to the roots of Eliko’s grandfather in Iraq and combines the trips and experiences that Eliko gained in Africa and the East with mind-blowing rhythms from the Sahara Desert. In 2018, Eliko Bass released its debut EP “Bass Around the World”. In 2021, Eliko Bass released its album “Moalem”. The music combines western musical instruments together with traditional musical instruments, with the bass guitar as a central and accompanying instrument, an electric guitar and a set of drums as compared to the traditional instruments - Oud, violin, Kamancha, Guimbri, Darbuka and more. The music is a mix of many cultures and experiences blended together and gives the artiste and the listener the opportunity to sail into and explore the imagination. The music is mostly instrumental and partly with singing, all in order to intensify the experience and the impulse to let go and dance and be happy. The project has appeared in many festivals, is played on some of the best radio stations and broadcasted on TV channels. Presently, Eliko Bass is working on new material for a second album.
