Biography

Clash Mag UK described Klue as “one of the lucky ones” - bouncing between continents, studio sessions, and festival stages - taking Afrohouse and Afrobeat to buzzing audiences at Glastonbury Festival, Field Day, Subsonic, Rainbow Serpent and many more. Known for raising the spirits of the dancefloor, Klue takes inspiration from Fela Kuti and Burna Boy as much as Kaytranada and Mura Masa, with a love for blaring horn sections, pan-african rhythms and big bass. What started as a teenage obsession with hip hop and a pair of turntables led to a need to create his own music - a fusion of Afrobeat, House and Dancehall that landed him a #1 spot on the Australian iTunes World Chart with his single ‘Lifted’. His song ‘So Good’ was discovered by Jax Jones, who played it on BBC Radio 1, and Klue’s official remix for Pnau’s Double Platinum single ‘Chameleon’ was released internationally Island Records. He’s also one third of Afro-Hip-Hop outfit True Vibenation alongside brothers Vuli and Moody. Together the trio have topped the UK and US Spotify Viral Charts, toured globally and performed to a packed Brixton Academy. Since covid put the brakes on international touring Klue has enjoyed a slower pace, focussing locally and hosting the Bare Necessities Rooftop party holding down a weekly residency on FBi Radio hosting Sunsets with Bare Necessities, championing dance music from Africa, Latin America, the Caribbean and their diasporas.
