Biography

Michigan vocalist Chris Orrick (formerly known as Red Pill) first gained notoriety as 1/3 of the group Ugly Heroes with legendary producer Apollo Brown and Chicago emcee Verbal Kent. Shortly after, he signed with indie powerhouse Mello Music Group for his solo career. His debut "Look What This World Did To Us" was a breakout success and Chris quickly found himself on the road with Hiphop legends - first with Exile & Fashawn, and then a whirlwind US Tour with Murs. Not satisfied to simply repeat the formulas that had worked for him before, Chris stepped out of his comfort zone for his sophomore album "Instinctive Drowning" and pushed his own limits sonically and lyrically. By far his most intimate album it was also his toughest to digest because of the heavy subject matter. Taking time off to explore and write, Chris returned with a pair of projects over the next year and half releasing "Portraits" and the EP "Out To Sea." Chris Orrick's newest album "I Read That I Was Dead" is a return to seeking inspired by waking to read the news of cryptozoologist and his namesake Chris Orrick's death. The new album is a dark, industrial, and abstract Hip-Hop record produced by The Lasso.
