Slightly shifting away from the cold and minimalistic sound of their debut album The End Is the Beginning, Mirror Of Haze, the enigmatic music project from Oslo, Norway, delves even deeper into their sonic exploration in a new full-length follow-up release titled Flamescapes of Eden. Both intense and dreamy, the sophomore record incorporates elements of the alternative rock music of the 80s and the 90s, mixing dark melancholic melodies of post-punk with lush textures of dream pop and distorted nature of shoegaze. One of the defining features of the album is the guest vocals by Anne Marie, Kim Bell (Broken Nails), Iris Capricorn and Dani Mari (Primitive Heart). Adding a rich tapestry of depth and diversity to the already captivating sound, these collaborations offer a unique dimension to the overall sonic experience and lyric content, where each track is distinct yet connected with the others. Flamescapes of Eden stands as a poignant testament to Mirror of Haze's artistic evolution, inviting audiences on a journey that resonates with the raw emotions and intricate relationships that bind us in a world brimming with chaos. The album's dynamic soundscapes traverse a spectrum from heavy and noise-infused to ethereal and reverb-drenched, capturing the essence of a generation grappling with an ever-changing reality, marked by turbulence, uncertainty and lethargic self-destruction.
