Biography

Brighton based producer/ DJ, Kirby ‘Kirbs’ Smith, has been a constant presence within the UK Bass scene since debuting in 2016 and has since transitioned into both the UK Garage and Drum & Bass scene, curating an original style and ear-catching sound with distinctive sound design, vocal and melody driven tracks, always with an undeniable energy. With releases across many well respected record labels, Kirbs’ built a healthy reputation with early releases on imprints such as Yosh and Southpoint with his 2020 single, ‘Let’s Rave’, topping the Beatport Singles Chart. This lead to Kirbs being picked up by the likes of DEEPROT and Skink for later, well received single releases including the 2023 single, ‘XTC’, which peaked at 8th in the iTunes Dance Chart and 32nd overall on iTunes. Over the years, Kirbs has seen his music supported internationally from artists including B-Founder and NIGHTMORSS in Russia as well as regular local radio support from BBC Introducing Sussex and Surry. Kirbs previously had a residency on Trickstar Radio supporting underground music and currently hold as residency at Decadance UK. A name already deeply rooted in the underground dance scene, Kirbs has been one of the most consistent UK Bass artists over the last 5 years and as he begins to branch out into genres such as UK Garage and Drum & Bass this is one artist to keep a close eye on as 2024 kicks off.
