Gavin Simon, otherwise known as Trace., is an American rapper & songwriter originally from Lake Charles, Louisiana. As a kid, Simon had a prominent passion for music and began learning a multitude of instruments as early as age 6. During his days in Junior High, Simon and his childhood friend Kaleb Benoit, more commonly known as Mello, began working behind closed doors on various hip-hop/rap projects. It wasn't until the early months of 2019 that Simon began releasing his songs to the public as an independent artist, which quickly gained traction on YouTube and other streaming platforms. In March of 2019, Simon released his first EP, 'Bipolar.' in collaboration with his best friend and fellow artist, Mello. After the release of the 'Bipolar.' EP, Simon's music career began to develop further when he revealed his 7-song EP to his previously-established 500,000+ subscriber YouTube audience, under the channel name itsjusta6. Just a few months later on November 15th, Simon released his second album, "Freak Show," which quickly charted at #3 for Hip-Hop/Rap albums and #18 in the Top 100 from all genres. Trace. had the proof he needed to see that he had potential to turn his passion for music into a sustainable career. Shortly after the release of his 3rd studio album, "Don't Lose Sight," Simon 'packed his bags and hit the road' to Atlanta, Georgia, where he now resides. In his new home studio, he works nearly daily to consistently drop music for his ever-growing fan base!
