Jontae Lofland better known as his stage name Joni Grand, a young Native American kid from Sussex County Delaware, learned to play the drums and piano while attending church in the Coverdale crossroads community during his upbringing. While dealing with childhood trauma Grand quickly discovered that music was his only way of being understood in a world full of confusion. Falling in love with early 2000’s hip hop he started to display his thoughts and ideas on paper. Living in a small town with no hip hop scene Grand made a name for himself by freestyling in the school cafeteria around his neighborhood for family and friends then eventually recorded his first freestyle in a bedroom with a cheap microphone, interface, and labtop at the age of 16. 
 Since then Grand perfected his craft and started dropping mixtapes in 2012 while calaborating with industry artist Lil Scrappy, King Los, and Quality Control artist Mark Battles. He has performed countless times in New York City, DC, Baltimore and more performing in front of crowds of 200-600 people. With a voice that demands attention Grand continues to stay consistent with his uncommon wordplay and an unorthodoxed style of hip hop music.
